weeks 9 to 12 ...

How far along?:  9 weeks
Weight gain: 1 pound
Cravings: peaches, applesauce, strawberry taffy (could that be more random?)
Maternity clothes: nope
Symptoms: still pretty nauseated all the time, but the throwing up is down to just once or twice a day and the nights aren’t so bad. i have noticed feeling SO tired this week.
Gender prediction: boy
This week: just enjoying you, little one. You seem to be growing very well! :-) i have been super busy at work, which can be a little challenging, but it also makes the days fly by! the people at work know now.. they were beginning to think I had the longest lasting stomach virus ever ;-)
How's daddy doing?: great! we are starting to discuss the nursery plans and rearranging a couple rooms.. which has been fun! lots of fun stuff do before little one arrives. we have been shopping for big boy furniture for robert.. rob loves the idea of bunk beds.. i don’t know if i love the idea of robert having the ability to climb in a dark room at 2am. we shall see!
How's Robert doing?:  so sweet and funny. rob has been working a lot this week so lots of time with mommy. he is obsessed with babies all the sudden and will point them out everywhere we go! if he hears a baby crying, he starts fake crying too.. this could make for a very loud house come August :-)

How far along?:  10 weeks
Weight gain: 1 pound
Cravings: salsa, peaches, and taffy
Maternity clothes: nope
Symptoms: nausea/ vomiting (about 1-2 times a day), bloated, peeing about 4-5 times a night and soooo tired.
Gender prediction: boy
This week: it has been a busy week full of preschool tours for big brother and a trip to the bay. All of our immediate family knows now.. it is nice getting to share our news. Everyone has been, of course, so happy for us! We were able to skype rob’s family to tell them. I called Lanny and Hannah to tell them the news and sent Suzie and my mom this picture of Robert sporting is first big brother  shirt. It was so fun. It was a huge step for me to buy that shirt. It has been hard to let myself believe this will happen this time, and that was one of the first outward steps towards it :-)
How's daddy doing?: Great! He always loves to get out of town to the bay. We picked out a baby blanket for the little one at our favorite baby store, giggle. He has been so helpful at night with Robert. I am usually hovering over the toilet or laying on the couch.. So thankful for daddy!
How's Robert doing?:  wonderful! he is talking more about babies, but isn’t saying too much else about it. when you ask him if he wants a baby he says “ooooookkk”.. it’s so cute! he has loved all the park time he has been getting and absolutely loved seeing the bay! he loves the water!

How far along?:  11 weeks
Weight gain: 2.5 pounds total
Cravings: salsa, PICKLES (by the dozen), jolly ranchers, salads
Maternity clothes: i use the bella band with some jeans
Symptoms: still pretty tired, peeing all time, and same with nausea/ vomiting. I started having some hip pain and leg cramping. I am also feeling really emotional lately! That song “home” by Phillip Phillips gets me every time.
Gender prediction: girl, just because. rob and i are so ready to know!!
This week: has been exhausting! daddy has been on service (24 hour/ day call) all week and we have not seen much of him! When I was not at crazy work, Robert and i have filled our days with playdates, lunch/ dinner dates, and parks. Robert has decided to start falling asleep around 9pm and is only taking 1-1.5 hour nap! Makes for one sleepy mama! Also, this week, we got to hear the little one’s heartbeat! It was 160 and you could hear the baby moving around. Music to my ears. It has been a long road, and there is no sweeter sound than that!
How's daddy doing?: he is exhausted too! it has been a long week and he is very busy at work.
How's Robert doing?:  besides cutting back a little on his sleep, he is great! we went to visit his friend, avery, and her new baby sister, molly.  he was so sweet with the baby and wanted to know everything that was going on! he is going to be the best big brother!

Weight gain: 3 pounds total
Cravings: fruit, pickles, cinnamon sugar anything
Maternity clothes: i use the bella band with jeans and some work pants
Symptoms: SO tired.. i took a cat nap in the car while Robert & Rob played at the park the other day.. ha, still nauseated on and off through the day, but it’s easing up. Vomiting about once a day or so. Hips not as bad this week :-)
Gender prediction: girl (see below)
This week: was a big week!! we had our NT sono and got the results of the first trimester screen. I was so nervous the day of the sono.. I am always so scared that nothing will be there on the screen. I swear I have PTSD from the last year... BUT there she was. Our gorgeous baby. So cooperative and sweet. Opening her hands and kicking her feet. Yes, HER hands and feet. They are guessing girl.. and I am going with it. I don’t care either way.. but it’s nice to have a hint. We will know for sure in a few weeks. All the numbers looked great. Healthy baby.. our answered prayer.  I was 12 weeks, 6 days at sono. We also started telling more people this week. We have the sweetest friends and family.. the reactions have been amazing. So many people told me they had been praying for us. That was so humbling to hear. I have been in happy tears all week.
How's daddy doing?: great! relieved to see our healthy baby.. he is not convinced it’s a girl.. we will see! he asks me every day if i have bought any girls clothes yet.. I haven’t, but can’t say that will last long :-)
How's Robert doing?: awesome! he has had a great week full of potty training and playing. He does a GREAT impression of a baby.. complete with crying and giggling. He is so much fun!
