family picture sneak peek..

we went to monterey this past weekend to shoot some family pictures with the amazing susanne ashby. it is always so fun to see her! she did my maternity pictures and robert's newborn, one year and now two year pics! we are so lucky to have her!

nimbus fish hatchery..

a couple of weeks ago, we brought robert to the nimbus fish hatchery. it is a huge hatchery off the american river near our house. it was such a cool (surprisingly) experience. this hatchery raises 4 million salmon a year. during season, you can see the salmon climbing up the steps of the damn to lay eggs. it is really just the coolest thing. i felt like i was watching the national geographic channel. ha.

robert loved being outside, watching the fish jump, and seeing the fish being fed. he loved how they would dance around under the water.. he just couldn't stop giggling.

we had such a fun day! afterwards, we went downtown and grabbed some pizza at our favorite place. love family saturdays and discovering new things with our sweet boy!

halloween..

this year, robert was yoda. i have secretly always wanted to dress my baby up as yoda.. i just think it is so cute. i figured this was the last year that rob and i would have a say in his costume, so we went for it!

as predicted, robert was the cutest little yoda that ever was. he totally owned it!

robert seemed to be more into trick-or-treating this year. he loved running up to people's front doors and waiting for them to answer. it was so funny because he would actually try and enter each person's house.. ha! he just felt right at home! he loved picking the candy from everyone's bowls. so far, robert isn't a big fan of candy. he will eat m&m's some, but not too much.

ready to head out for trick-or-treating. we made it to about 6 houses and then robert was done. we came home and handed out candy for the rest of the evening :-)

robert and our sweet neighbor's grand-daughter, mariah. they are park buddies and love to hold hands! 

overall, it was a very successful halloween! 

bishop's pumpkin farm

nana came into town last week so robert and i decided to take her to the biggest pumpkin patch around here, bishop's pumpkin farm. my friends have been telling me how wonderful it was, and they were not kidding! we had so much fun and were so glad that nana could come with us!

here are some fun pictures from the day!

first up, the treehouse with a slide. robert loved climbing up with nana and going down the slide! i was so impressed with how well he waited his turn for the slide :-)

they had an old train car for the kids to climb in.. robert was fascinated by it and i think a little confused on why it wouldn't "go"

robert went in jail :-) wouldn't this be funny for timeout?

checked out some pumpkins.. again, not too impressed. maybe next year!

(this is was so cute.. to get to the slide, you had to climb up stairs and go through a little maze. robert would go up with nana and i would just hear them both laughing from the bottom. it was so funny! he loved his nana chasing him around!)

our favorite part of the pumpkin patch was the petting zoo! oh my goodness.. we loved it! you could buy food to feed the animals. the goats were so funny and robert just could not quit giggling. he would throw the food and try to make them "fetch" it. we also got to feed some pigs. it was so much fun!

after some lunch, robert played a bit more and we headed home! thanks for braving the pumpkin farm with us, nana! we love you!!

halloween music class..

robert has been really getting into his music class the last couple of weeks! i finally remembered to bring my phone in so i could snap some quick pictures of robert in music class :-) this was an extra cute class because all the kids wore their costumes and they played fun halloween songs like monster mash and ghostbusters (robert's fav!)

i dressed robert in his costume when we got there because i knew it wouldn't last too long :-)

this is robert's sweet friend, avery. she is was such a sweet snow white..

yoda got a little fresh with her.. ha.. but in his defense, he liked her big skirt and how you could see through the first layer!

avery's mom, michelle, and i were crying laughing. luckily, michelle is one of my dear friends and forgave me for our son's forward behavior ;-)

i didn't get any more pictures in the music class.. they really don't encourage pictures, but i am going to keep trying! it is so great to see robert dancing, trying to sing, and playing the instruments.

after music, we brought yoda out for lunch and coffee. he was just so precious.
