a couple of weeks ago, we brought robert to the nimbus fish hatchery. it is a huge hatchery off the american river near our house. it was such a cool (surprisingly) experience. this hatchery raises 4 million salmon a year. during season, you can see the salmon climbing up the steps of the damn to lay eggs. it is really just the coolest thing. i felt like i was watching the national geographic channel. ha.
robert loved being outside, watching the fish jump, and seeing the fish being fed. he loved how they would dance around under the water.. he just couldn't stop giggling.
here are some fun pictures from the day..
robert checking out the dam..
watching the salmon climb the steps..
getting a close look at the baby fish waiting to get out..
here they are dancing around..
and here is robert's cute reaction..
robert and daddy..
big salmon down in the river. there were a ton of them.. and a big sign that said "no fishing" ;-)
here is the whole fam..
we had such a fun day! afterwards, we went downtown and grabbed some pizza at our favorite place. love family saturdays and discovering new things with our sweet boy!
