in december, rob and i took the kids the san francisco. we decided it was the perfect way to practice traveling with two before our big trips this spring.
overall, the trip went really well. robert loved the buzz of the city and that it was completely decked out in holiday decor. we visited the sea lions, hung out in union square, and played at a park with some great views. lauren slept pretty well and seemed to enjoy getting away.
one funny story.. right before we headed back home, we decided to grab some lunch at the mall near union square. we decided on this little italian place that promised us it was super kid friendly. it wasn't. robert was so tired from all the excitement of the trip. he refused to eat anything and then bumped his head super hard on the table during a meltdown.. then, while rob brought him to the bathroom to regroup, lauren projectile vomited all over me. through both our clothes, all over the booth. it was awesome. and being the good mom i am, i left her spare outfit at the hotel. so i stripped her down, put her in robert's coat and then snuggled her into mine. rob then snuggled robert into his. we were quite the seen walking back to our hotel room and i am sure that restaurant has changed it's mind about being kid friendly. i didn't have another pair of jeans (my other pair had been puked on the day prior ;-)) so i left our cute hotel basically wearing my pjs. keep it classy san fran ;-) rob and i laughed so hard, we cried. what else can you do?
