preschool..

oh preschool..

in june, robert started preschool. we searched for so long and toured quite a few schools, and finally decided on one about 12 minutes from  our house. i wanted one that would be mostly fun and socialization.. with some learning mixed in, of course! 

we are very happy with the one we chose. it is set on a full acre of land on an old pear farm. the "farmhouses" were transformed into 4 different classrooms. each is its own house if you will with a full classroom, kitchen, and bathroom. the facilities are so cute and the classrooms are decorated so perfectly.. it just looks FUN!

there are gardens, farm animals, and play areas for the kids to enjoy. they spend a lot of time outside- which i love!

to prepare for school, we had started potty training, had been reading tons of books about school, and talking a lot about it. 

ya, none of that really helped.

it was traumatic.. for all involved! 

robert was so excited about the idea of preschool, playing with friends, making art and saying bye to mommy every morning.. but when it came down to it.. it was just not so easy.

we had a few rough weeks.. complete with acting out and complete regression in potty training.

BUT..

every day, our sweet robert does so much better. drop offs are exciting now. he loves his teacher, miss shelby. he has made so many friends at school- he loves talking all about audry, molly, miko, jayden, and cole. he brings home the best art projects, which are all proudly displayed on the refrigerator. he digs in sand, splashes in water, and gets covered in paint.. and we could not be happier. we have also noticed a huge improvement in his speech and articulation.. after only 5 weeks!

we are so proud of robert. it makes me cry happy tears! the other day when i picked him up, miss shelby told me robert is "one of the happiest kids in class".. that makes us beyond happy and proud. 

we fully expect to have another transition period when lauren arrives and the fall sessions starts (new teacher, some new kids).. but for now, we are just enjoying it! oh, and potty training is not where it was, but we are getting back there!
